Privacy Policy
Your notes stay local unless you choose to export them.
Last updated: June 10, 2026. This policy explains how Online Notepad handles notes, browser storage, images, exports, analytics, and basic website operation.
Open Notepad Information you type into notes
Online Notepad is local-first. The notes you write, format, import, or edit are stored in your browser storage on the device you are using.
The current editor does not require an account and does not upload your note content to an Online Notepad account.
Browser storage
Autosave uses browser storage so your notes can remain available when you return on the same browser and device.
Browser storage is controlled by your browser. It may be cleared by private browsing mode, site-data settings, storage limits, device cleanup tools, or manual deletion.
Images and files
If you insert an image, Online Notepad compresses it before saving to reduce browser storage pressure.
Files you open in the editor are processed in your browser for writing and export workflows.
Exports and sharing
You choose when a note leaves the browser by downloading text or HTML, printing, saving as PDF, copying content, or sending an exported file.
Online Notepad does not currently publish public share links for your notes.
Technical and hosting data
Like most websites, hosting providers may process basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, and error logs to deliver and protect the website.
This technical data is separate from the notes stored locally in your browser.
Analytics
Online Notepad uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate website usage, page performance, and which features visitors use.
Google Analytics may process information such as page URL, browser and device details, approximate location, interactions, timestamps, and analytics identifiers or cookies, depending on browser settings and Google controls. The analytics notice can be dismissed after you read it.
Cookies and accounts
The current Online Notepad editor does not require user accounts, payments, or login cookies to write notes.
Theme preference and note state may be stored locally in your browser so the interface can remember your choices.
Your choices
You can delete notes in the editor, clear this site data from your browser settings, or export backups before clearing local storage.
For sensitive notes, avoid shared devices and keep your exported backups somewhere secure.
